Located within the city of Bremerton, on the Kitsap Peninsula, Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton enjoys access to a lively urban environment and many outdoor recreational opportunities. A conglomerate of military installations that includes Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton, Naval Base Kitsap is the third largest naval base in the United States. The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard resides within Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton yet operates as a separate unit. 

 

In 1891 the military purchased land along Sinclair Inlet in Bremerton to establish a Naval Station. A few years later, Naval Station Bremerton became a shipyard and functioned as the only ship repair facility on the West Coast for many years. By 2004, Naval Station Bremerton was combined with Submarine Base Bangor to create Naval Base Kitsap. 

 

Contemporary Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton is a bustling military facility comfortably nestled within the city of Bremerton. The picturesque natural environments of the Kitsap Peninsula and Bremerton's arts and food culture are all right in Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton's backyard. In addition, the naval base's enviable geographic location provides access to watersports, nearby national forests, parks, and picturesque 18-hole golf courses.

Khao Soi features meticulously prepared Thai cuisine amidst charmingly designed surroundings. An indoor dining room and a beautifully appointed outdoor patio offer diners a relaxing environment to savor delightful dishes. 

 

A local favorite, Horse & Cow Bar & Grill boasts a diverse selection of drinks and presents a menu of classic pub cuisine. Their distinctive décor is naval-themed, serving as a playful nod to Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton’s place of honor within the community. Next door to Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton, The Coffee Oasis Bremerton Café + Roastery offers its patron’s one-of-a-kind, carefully crafted espresso creations. Things to Do

 

There is always something to do near Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton. Attendees of the annual Bremerton Bridge Blast Festival enjoy a spectacular day on the water leading up to the largest bridge fireworks show on the West Coast. The Kitsap County Fair features a rodeo and has over 6,000 exhibitors every year. Celebrating all things “blackberries,” the Bremerton Blackberry Festival includes over 100 vendors and showcases local music, beer, and blackberry wine. 


The Puget Sound Navy Museum curates exhibitions highlighting the Pacific Northwest’s naval heritage from 1840 to now. Host of the USGA Public Links Championship in 2006, Gold Mountain Golf Club remains noteworthy today. The club’s Cascade Course is a top choice for tournament play.
